Stokes, Ph.D.
Houston Stokes is Professor of Economics at the University
of Illinois at Chicago, where he specializes in
econometrics, monetary economics, and energy economics. He
has written more than 87 articles and five books in the
areas of applied econometrics, time series, monetary
economics, economic history, and software design. Dr.
Stokes' research papers have involved measuring the effect
of changes in the financial structure on real output,
modeling the decision process in OPEC, measuring the
effects of changes in the interest rates on adjustment
under the gold standard, interest arbitrage, and software
design. Professor Stokes has consulted widely in the
financial area, the health economics area, and in energy
economics.
