Peter
Bernstein, M.B.A., Vice President
Mr. Bernstein is Vice President of RCF, where he leads
RCF’s legal support and market economic analysis. He has
written numerous testimonies and appeared as an expert
witness on many occasions. Mr. Bernstein has testified
before the Postal Rate Commission on the impact of the
Internet on the finances of the U.S. Postal Service and has
also testified in union-management contract arbitration
hearings. Mr. Bernstein is also the author of RCF’s
Quarterly Economic Forecast report. He has also co-authored
many economic studies, such an analysis of the "Living
Wage" proposal for the City of Chicago, several housing
market analyses, and a large-scale survey of airline
passengers for O’Hare airport. Mr. Bernstein also
collaborated on an RCF study of the impact of a proposed $1
billion casino/entertainment complex and testified before
the Chicago Commission on Gaming.
In addition to his work at RCF, Mr. Bernstein is Visiting
Instructor of Economics at DePaul University where he
teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in business and
economics. He was on the faculty of Loyola University from
1987 to 1991 and was Lecturer at the University of Chicago
Graduate School of Business where he taught investment
theory.
Prior to working with RCF, Mr. Bernstein co-authored a
study of the budget of the Chicago Transit Authority for
the Center for Economic Policy Analysis, testified as a
witness on behalf of BMW of North America, and conducted
policy analyses in other areas including criminal justice
and federal and state fiscal policy. He was a research
analyst with the Federal Trade Commission in Washington,
D.C. and was on the research staff of the American Medical
Association in Chicago, Illinois.
Mr. Bernstein holds a B.A. in Economics and an M.B.A. in
Economics and Finance, both from the University of Chicago.
He has completed all course and examination requirements
toward a Doctorate degree from the University of Chicago
Graduate School of Business.
